With 95% of precincts having reported, Florida Amendment 3 looks to have passed. The proposal, which expands homestead property tax exemptions, received 60.72% of the vote (2,638,964 "Yes" votes), clearing the required 60% supermajority threshold.
The amendment takes effect on January 1, 2027, and will raise the non-school homestead exemption to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 by 2028. It also caps annual assessment increases for non-homestead properties at 5% and restricts how local governments can spend property tax revenue.
Amendment 2 (the farm equipment property tax exemption) appears to have failed, landing at approximately 58% "yes" with 93% of votes counted, short of the 60% supermajority required to pass. The amendment would have exempted tangible personal property (tractors, machinery, tools) on agricultural land from ad valorem taxes starting in the 2027 tax year.
Amendment 1 (Budget Stabilization Fund) also failed, landing at roughly 41% "yes" with 95% of votes counted, far short of the 60% supermajority required. The amendment would have raised the cap on Florida's "rainy day" fund from 10% to 25% of general revenue collections and required annual transfers of up to $750 million into the fund.
