On Monday, Manatee Memorial Hospital’s Board of Governors announced the appointment of Darin Roark as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 2, 2026.
“We are pleased to welcome Darin Roark as the new CEO of Manatee Memorial Hospital,” said Hugh Miller, chairman of the hospital’s Board of Governors. “With more than 70 years of dedicated service to our community, Manatee Memorial Hospital has a strong foundation on which to build. We look forward to this next chapter of leadership, growth, and continued excellence as we strengthen our longstanding commitment to providing quality healthcare to Manatee County and the surrounding communities.”
Roark brings an extensive background in hospital leadership, operational performance, quality improvement, and strategic growth. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham.
During his tenure, the hospital earned consecutive Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade A ratings in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026, while advancing key performance measures, including operating performance, length of stay, emergency department throughput, operating room utilization, and clinical outcomes.
“My family and I are excited to relocate to Manatee County and look forward to joining the community at Manatee Memorial Hospital,” said Darin Roark, incoming CEO. “The hospital has a long tradition of providing excellent care, and I look forward to continuing to serve the healthcare needs of local residents.”
Prior to joining Mass General Brigham, Roark spent more than a decade in leadership roles with Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida, including serving as President of Baptist Medical Center Clay. His experience encompasses physician recruitment, service-line expansion, emergency services, ambulatory care development, and the growth of a new hospital.
