In Loving Memory of William Charles “Butch” Powell. Butch was a beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend, who passed away on September 2, 2026.
He was born on February 13, 1954, in Tampa, Florida. Butch graduated from Manatee High School in 1972 where he met his future wife, Jayne. For more than five decades, they shared a life filled with love, family, hard work, faith, and countless memories.
Butch dedicated 40 plus years of his life to the plumbing industry where he took great pride in his work and was known for his knowledge, dedication, and willingness to help others. His faith was an important part of his life. Butch was an active and devoted member of West Bradenton Baptist Church (WBBC), where he served and worshiped faithfully. Butch also proudly served as an active member of Hernando de Soto for 10 years. Through his involvement, he built friendships, served his community, and created memories that will be treasured by those who knew him.
But above all of his accomplishments, Butch’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to Jayne and a loving father and Papa. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in watching his daughters and granddaughters grow. His love, guidance, humor, and presence will live on through the family he cherished so deeply.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents Barbara and Ken Andersen; and William Lawrence Powell. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jayne; daughters Jennifer Carriker (Jay) and Alison Boldin (Dave); and his cherished granddaughters Mallory, Ellie, Haley, Alyssa, and Sarah Grace. And his brother Davis, sisters Nancy and Barb and stepmother Bonnie.
