Stephen Henry Maigret, 65, passed away on October 30, 2023, following a brief illness. Born on January 8, 1958, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, he was the fourth child of the late Conrad A. Maigret and Anita E. (Reilly) Maigret. He spent his formative years in Attleboro, culminating in his graduation from Bishop Feehan High School in 1975.

Steve harbored an early dream of residing in Florida. At the age of 14, driven by determination, he and a friend set out on a journey, aiming to secure jobs at Disney World. This spirited endeavor led them almost to Orlando before authorities intervened and reunited them with their concerned parents. Undeterred, Steve made another attempt to settle in Florida, this time as a young married man with a child. This move to Manatee County marked a permanent chapter in his life. For more than four decades, he dedicated himself to various industrial and construction roles in the area. He concluded his career as a revered Senior Project Manager at Nutter Custom Construction in Sarasota.

A man of considerable stature, Steve possessed an equally immense heart and personality. His wit, intelligence, and penchant for good-natured teasing brightened every encounter. An innate gift for writing graced his communications, delighting recipients with his humorous letters and emails. He had a fascination with automobiles that surfaced when he was young. At the age of two, he astounded a neighbor by identifying a passing car's make and model, and over the years, his automotive knowledge grew to encyclopedic depths. Steve had an insatiable appetite for learning and cultivated many interests and passions throughout his life. Music, drumming, trucks, muscle cars, and motorcycles all held a cherished place in his heart. Steve loved the outdoors and found comfort in Florida's natural beauty. He could often be found at the outdoor shooting range, tending to his expansive grill, or wandering the woodland trails near his home.

Steve is survived by his loving children: Jessica Maigret of Bradenton, Florida, and Kyle Maigret of Sarasota, Florida. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Maigret of Warwick, Rhode Island, and his sisters: Mary Chamberlain of Plainville, Massachusetts, Jean Potuchek of Poland, Maine, and Ann Marie Plath of Attleboro, Massachusetts. Additionally, he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends who will deeply feel his absence. His memory will endure as a beacon of joy and warmth in their hearts.
