A debate was finally arranged featuring all three congressional candidates for the Congressional District 16 Republican primary: Eddie Speir, Ed Pope, and Sydney Gruters. In a strange event that featured threats to throw candidates off stage and at least one arrest, WSLR was able to capture video of the debate.

This was not a "Debate" as the agenda was to promote one candidate and deprive another of an open discussion. We were lead to believe the audience were real voters while the video showed not one white haired person in attendance. The audience was hand selected and were mentioned by one of the candidates as low paid campaign workers - but of whose campaign?
Shame on WSLR NEWS for such a biased, well paid for, presentation...
Anyone who watches this will come away knowing the true colors of those involved...

I paid 55.00 to attend the luncheon. Their club has strict rules so I assumed it would be different than a tiger bay club. The Audience was able to write a question to the panel and turn into a box before the meeting. I submitted a comment and saw many others.
Someone may have wanted blood-letting but I was glad I got to hear from all three. All three gave comments that showed they support our R principals. It was very tight on the rules but all agreed to follow them. I never saw anyone arrested. Must have happened before the forum. ALL agreed to endorse the winner. I hope this happens.
