Marie Goldsmith Crennan, 88, peacefully passed away In Bradenton, FL, on July 14, 2023. She was born February 8, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from J. W. Hallahan High School for Girls in 1953 and later attended Temple University. She was employed in several divisions of AT&T in clerical and business management during her career.
Marie married William P. Crennan with whom she shared a love of golf. Marie played many of the major courses in the country, enjoyed tournaments, held memberships in golf clubs around Philadelphia and proudly displayed her hole-in one plaque.
She and her husband retired in 1993 and they moved to a golfing community in Sebring, FL, where they built a home on a golf course and happily resided until Bill's passing in 2013. Marie moved to a retirement community in Bradenton, FL, where she lived comfortably, and played golf until her passing in 2023.
Marie is survived by her brother, John Goldsmith, her sister-in-law, Kathleen of Bethesda, MD; nephews Timothy and Kenneth: and two grand nieces, Lily and Nora and grandnephew, Henry.
Funeral services were held at Saints Peter and Paul, the Apostles Church in Bradenton, FL, and St. Bartholomew Church in Bethesda, MD. Graveside services were conducted at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA, where Marie and Bill are now reunited. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34207, were in charge of arrangements.
