Lisa Gonzalez Moore announced this week that she will seek reelection to the Bradenton City Council. Moore, a local real estate and business attorney, is finishing her first term after more than 23 years in Manatee County and over 16 years living in Bradenton’s Ward 4.
"I entered public service because I’ve always believed in being involved in my community," Moore said in a press release announcing her reelection campaign. "Serving on the City Council has only strengthened that. I care deeply about making thoughtful decisions, staying accessible, and doing the work the right way for our city."
During her first term, Moore largely focused on infrastructure, economic redevelopment, fiscal responsibility, and staying engaged with the community. She has also worked on long-term planning to manage growth more effectively.
Moore has been recognized by the Florida League of Cities with the Hometown Hero Award for her service and leadership in local government. She currently serves as vice president of the Manasota League of Cities and secretary/treasurer of the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council.
Outside of her role as a councilwoman, Moore says she stays active in the community through organizations such as the Manatee County Bar Association, the Manatee Inn of Court, The Magic of Mittens, and a local Manatee County Presbyterian Church.
"As Bradenton continues to grow, we have to be thoughtful about how we move forward," Moore said. "That means planning ahead, being responsible with resources, and making sure people feel heard. I want to continue that work."
Bradenton City Council seats are contested in a nonpartisan, winner-take-all race on the November ballot. Thus far, Moore is the only candidate who has filed to run in Ward 4.
