Bradenton, Florida - Lawrence Theodore Barnett passed away on Friday, May 2nd after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Lawrence was born on September 1, 1953 in Miami, Florida to parents Raymond Otto Barnett and Adeline (Storck) Barnett. As a kid living in both Florida and the Bahamas, Lawrence developed his passion for being in and on the water.

Lawrence graduated from Stetson University where he met Barbara, his wife of 49 years. After college, he worked in variety of roles in the marine industry. Later in life, he started Lighthouse Renovations and Construction and served as a general contractor for many kitchen and bath remodels in Bradenton, Sarasota, and the Gulf Islands.

Lawrence was truly in his element bringing forgotten boats or cars back to life. He also spent summers teaching neighborhood kids how to ski and kneeboard, or as he preferred to call it "trolling for gators."

He will be missed by his wife, Barbara, son Ted and his wife Taryn, son Cody and his wife Kelsey, Grandson Stetson, brothers Blair and Keith, sisters-in-law Carolyn and Rebecca, and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service and reception will be held on May 24th. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the Florida Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association, the Michael J. Fox Association for Parkinson's Research, or the Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson's.
