Judith I Stolberg, 78, of Bradenton, Fl, formerly of Worcester, MA, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 24th in Lakewood Medical Center in Florida.

Judy leaves behind her Mother; Eleanore Mallett, her daughters; Marie Shepherd and husband James, Jean Baril and husband Michael, her step-children; Ina Reiss, Stephen, Andrew and Nicole Stolberg and their families, her grandchildren, Sarah Marks, Samantha Pong, Alex and Max Shepherd, her great-grandchildren; Dameon and Jaxson Medina, Ava and Cole Marks, and her brother David Mallett, brother and sister in-laws; Paul Stolberg, Margaret Vendetti, Ina Gadient and Susan Holmes, and many nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Stolberg, her father, Donald Mallett, and her brother Donald “Duck” Mallett, her grandson-in-law; Chad Marks, sister-in-law; Suzanne Mallett, brothers-in-law; John Stolberg and James Stolberg, and her in-laws; Elizabeth and Jack Stolberg.

Judy graduated from Shrewsbury High School and briefly went on to nursing school, before changing career paths. Judy worked for the City of Worcester, Office of Planning and Community Development for many years alongside her best friend and partner in crime, Gloria Coop, before retiring in 2009.

Judy loved her family and was proud to be a part of five generations. Most of all, she absolutely adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took pride in their accomplishments and was a constant presence in their lives, whether it was the strength she saw in her granddaughters, Sarah and Sam, or proud of the career paths her grandsons Alex and Max have chosen and the men they have become, to her great-grandsons Dameon and Jaxson on the football field, cheering from afar while watching the Facebook live stream, to the resilience of her great-grandaughter Ava and great-grandson Cole.

Judy had a quick wit, and you could be certain that there was always a bit of sarcasm inserted. She will be missed by all who loved her.

While Judy had few hobbies, one of her favorite things was shopping on QVC or Amazon. The family could always count on receiving a gadget of some type for holidays and birthdays.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Family and friends are welcomed to gather at the funeral home for a brief calling hour from 10:00am to 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s name can be made to Friendly House, 36 Wall St, Worcester, MA, 01604 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
