Bradenton, FLA - John Curtis Moyer left this world peacefully after a brief illness on March 27, 2025.

Born March 4, 1937, in Washington, D.C. He grew up and worked in the Washington/Baltimore area most of his life. He lived in Columbia, Maryland 30 years before moving to Bradenton in 2001.

John worked for over 31 years for the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company, later known as Bell Atlantic, then AT&T and then finally for Verizon working in Special Services. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. After retirement, he worked part-time for several contractors in the Baltimore area selling doors and trim for commercial and residential builders.

He also served in the Air Force reserve, honorably discharged in 1962.

John was a charter member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Columbia, Maryland and was currently an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bradenton, Florida.

In 1974, he married Marianne K. Dye, she preceded him in death May 2024.

John is survived by a son Mark Moyer in Altoona, PA, and a stepson David Dye Jr. in Scottsdale, AZ. and their respective families consisting of their wives, 4 grand-daughters and 1 great granddaughter and 3 great grandsons.

John's adventures included scuba/snorkel diving, hang gliding, and he was a private pilot for many years. After moving to Florida, he enjoyed giving platelets for those in need every 2 weeks at "One Blood" where he made many friends, John gave over 95 gallons in his lifetime.

John's travels took him to Antigua, Anguilla, California Wine country and just about every state on the east coast. There were also many cruises throughout North & South America.

The last 15 years, John and Marianne spent much of his time giving back to the community, volunteering to various charities in Bradenton, Florida.

Services will be held at: Trinity Lutheran Church, 2200 26th ST West, Bradenton, FL 34205 on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 7 p.m.
