JoAnne Ella Piniewski, known to her loved ones as JoAnne, passed away on November 9, 2023, at the age of 85 in Bradenton, Florida. She was born on July 23, 1938, in Buffalo, NY, to the late Miles and Margaret Zuppinger.
JoAnne chose adventure in life and loved to travel. She embarked on numerous journeys, embracing the world around her. She was a person of great curiosity, always eager to explore new places and cultures.
JoAnne will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her daughters Victoria Wachowiak (Gregory Wachowiak husband), Karen James (Christopher James Husband) and Patricia Sedlmeier (Norman Sedlmeier Husband). She was a loving Grandmother of 7 and Great Grandmother of 5. JoAnne was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Piniewski and her loving husband Henry Louis Piniewski.
In her professional life, JoAnne served as a Secretary at Bethlehem Steel and later as an Office Manager at Mazurkiewicz Family Chiropractic. Her dedication and hard work were evident in the love and appreciation her work colleagues had for her.
JoAnne was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and her beloved St. Mary's Church in Eden, New York.
Outside of her love of adventure, JoAnne had a passion for genealogy. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving in various leadership roles, including State Corresponding Secretary, State Director District VIII, Williams Mills Chapter Regent, NE Division Chair American Indians, NE Division Chair The The Flay of The United States of America, and State Chair The Flag of The United States of America. Additionally, she was a proud member of the Colonial Dames.
A celebration of JoAnne's life will be held in Eden, New York, in Spring of 2024. The Brown Funeral Home in Bradenton, Florida, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
JoAnne Ella Piniewski will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, dedication to her family, and her commitment to preserving history through her genealogical research. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
