Jenifer Carmel Catlin, 68, of Bradenton, FL passed away February 14, 2024, with her family by her side. Born Jenifer Williams, but most commonly known as Dr. Catlin, Jen was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago where she grew up.
She lived a life full of creativity and adventure, having traveled all over the world, living in England and the B.V.I. before moving to the Cayman Islands where she met and married her husband, Rick. They worked together at the Caymanian Compass for several years before relocating to Florida. They were married for 32 years, until his passing in 2021. They shared two children together and two beautiful granddaughters that Jen loved with all of her heart.
In 2001, Rick and Jen moved to Bradenton, FL where Jen moved from the field of agricultural economics to education. She graduated in 2005 with her Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. She worked at Island Middle School, Ave Maria Prep School and for the last 15 years at Southeast High School, a place she loved to be, where she is greatly loved and cherished.
All who knew Jen also loved her. She will be greatly missed, and her legacy will continue to live on in all of our lives. She is predeceased by her husband, Rick Catlin; her parents, Charles and Angela Williams; and siblings, Farnes and Lenny Williams. Jen is survived by her son, Christian Catlin; daughter, Codyann Catlin Sterrenberg; son-in-law, Tim Sterrenberg; granddaughters, Lilyanna and Amelia Sterrenberg; siblings, Larry Williams and Janice Richards and their spouses as well as her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews as well as Rick's brother and his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held 9:30 AM, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bradenton FL. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street West Bradenton, FL 34207, is in charge of arrangements and flowers may be sent to them.
