Jeffrey Carl Logas, age 64, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on November 12, 2023. He was born on July 6, 1959. Jeff was a beloved husband, brother-in-law, and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Laurel Logas; his sisters-in-law, Mary Beth Logas, Nina Logas, Lisa Johnson, Lynn (Mark) Hart, Lesli (Chad) Haines; his nephews, William Logas Jr., Danial Logas, Austin Morgan, Andrew Hart, Jacob Haines; and his niece, Jeananne Haines. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Logas; mother, Luella Logas; brother, William Logas; brother, Gene Logas; brother, Charles Logas Jr.; sister, Linda Resop; nephew, Ronald Resop; niece, Rachaelle Resop; and mother-in-law, Jeanne Johnson and father-in-law, Richard Johnson.
Jeff was a wonderful, kind, and caring person. He had a genuine love for his friends and family. He was a sports fanatic, and was particularly passionate about Cardinal baseball and attending Marauders and Tampa Bay Rays games with his buddies. Jeff was an avid reader, and had a curious mind. He enjoyed engaging in conversations with just about anyone, on just about any subject. His love for travel took him and his beloved wife on many adventures both in the US and abroad.
Jeff graduated from Granite City High School North and went on to earn his MS in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He had a fulfilling career, serving as an Assistant Professor at Winona State University in Winona, MN from 1990 to 1995. Jeffrey then co-owned Pet Medical Center in Winona, MN with his wife, Laurel, where he served as Practice Manager, and she as Veterinarian Owner/Medical Director from 1992 to 2011. In 2011, he and Laurel moved to Bradenton, FL where they became co-owners of Bradenton Veterinary Hospital, and continued their dedication to the health and welfare of the pets that were entrusted to their care.
Jeff was a man of faith and found solace in his worship at Faith Lutheran Church in Winona, MN, and later at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bradenton, FL.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 2200 26th St W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Jeffrey's memory to The Nature Conservancy, World Wildlife Fund, or Trinity Lutheran Church.
