What a fantastic interview with Tony Barrett! It was informative and truly highlighted his platform as a candidate, along with his strong leadership and genuine care for the county. As a new Manatee County resident, this podcast is a great way to get to know the community, what makes it special, and the challenges that require thoughtful governance. Great work, Dawn and Mitch! I loved the conversational, real-talk format and the willingness to ask tough questions. Tony, you make the Realtor family proud, and you have my vote!

First thank you Mitch and Dawn for presenting this forum. It will allow voting residents to understand the candidates positions.

I like that Tony was allowed to share his full service to the community in the early years as a volunteer. He continues with public service and giving back to military personnel in need throughout his years. He understands and is willing to learn on issues with MCG. If he needs to obtain more knowledge, he will dig in to get the answer. Since Tony has been a East Manatee Fire Commissioner I have been attending those meetings. His involvement with the district and questions asked at board meetings shows a clear understanding of doing the right thing for the tax payer and questioning the norm, or "that's just the way it's done". I was very interested and hearing Tony's understanding related to Manatee County EMS and the struggles related to staffing. Affordable housing has been a consistent term and challenge for decades for the staff of this division. We need to maintain good, tenured prehospital health care clinicians (EMTs and Paramedics). Having a continuous staffing turn over is not a good system. We need BOCC members that puts 1st responders and Public Safety first. Not just talking about it, but SUPPORT MANATEE COUNTY EMS. The BOCC has zero control over fire districts, but they do operate MCEMS and have been doing so for 54 years. Again, thank you TBT for providing this format. Support Candidate Tony Barrett D6.
