Eleanor Tomeo, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on September 16, 1927, in the Bronx, New York, Eleanor lived a life full of warmth, devotion, and quiet strength. She was the cherished wife of the late Carmine Tomeo, and together they built a strong and loving family rooted in tradition and care.

Eleanor was a talented seamstress who took great pride in sewing clothes not only for her children and grandchildren, but also for herself. She also loved spending time in the kitchen, where she prepared countless home-cooked meals for her family.

Those gatherings will be remembered for their warmth, laughter, and the food that always brought everyone together. It was impossible to visit Eleanor's home without being offered something to eat-her way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Grace Hipp and Beatrice Tomeo; her grandson, Nicholas Pagnotta; and her brother, Jerry Meliso. Though her life was marked by great loss, Eleanor remained a steadfast source of love, resilience, and wisdom for all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Ellen Morabito; son-in-law, Michael Morabito Jr.; her son, Dr. Charles Tomeo; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Tomeo. Eleanor was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, including her late grandson Nicholas, and the great-grandmother of 25 great-grandchildren-all of whom were the light of her life.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 2 PM with a Memorial Service to begin at 3 PM at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory: 43rd Street Chapel: 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL, 34209. Eleanor will be laid to rest at a later date by family at Sarasota National Cemetery: 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Eleanor's remarkable life and the love she so generously gave.
