On February 5, 2024, Donna Nelson of Sarasota, Florida, passed away at peace in her sleep.
Donna was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 20, 1946, to Dr. Michael F. Wiecek and Victoria M. (Siekierski) Wiecek. She grew up in the Warszawa neighborhood of post-war Cleveland and attended St. Stanislaus School and St. Stanislaus High School. Donna was in the first class of undergraduate women admitted to John Carroll University after it officially became coed. She graduated with an A.B. degree in Speech in 1968.
After a brief stint as a teacher, Donna found her calling as a real estate agent. She moved from Cleveland to Dallas, Texas, where she worked for several decades in real estate before relocating to Orlando, Florida, and then to Sarasota, where she eventually retired. Donna enjoyed golf, both as a player and as a volunteer at major tournaments.
She is survived by her brother, William M. Wiecek, and a nephew and two nieces. No services are scheduled at this time. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34209, is in charge of arrangements.
