An old rivalry is returning to the softball diamond! After a multi-year hiatus, the Bradenton Police Department and Bradenton Fire Department will once again go head-to-head in Boots vs. Badges, a charity softball game hosted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders on Thursday, November 5, at LECOM Park.
In recent years, the annual event featured BPD taking on the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. But this year, the game returns to its roots, reigniting the friendly rivalry between Bradenton’s police officers and firefighters. Bragging rights are on the line, but the real winners will be two local charities!
Gates open at 6 p.m., with the first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, with proceeds benefiting the Bradenton Blue Foundation, the charitable arm of BPD, and the Bradenton Fire Department’s charity.
BPD extends its sincere appreciation to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders for their continued support of local first responders and the community we serve. We look forward to a great evening of friendly competition, community camaraderie, and a little good-natured trash talk.
Come cheer on your favorite team — and help us knock it out of the park for two great causes!
