Charles David Beattie, 61, died suddenly Sunday, September 17, 2023, in Bradenton, Florida.
Charles was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 30, 1961. The family moved to Saginaw the following year. He graduated from Saginaw Township's Douglas MacArthur High School with the class of 1980. He studied at Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State Universities. He moved to the Bradenton, Florida area in 1985 to join the IBEW. He earned his journeyman electrician license and later changed careers to construction. He was a loyal employee of Bradenton's Manson Roofing, Inc for over 29 years. He found love and married for the first time on August 22, 2020.
He was predeceased in death by his father, Robert David Beattie, originally from Owosso, Michigan, and his mother, Marian Louise (Claeys) Beattie, originally from Shelby, Michigan. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Westphal) Beattie; his sister and brother-in-law Katherine and Mark Landes of Gladwin, Michigan; four beloved nephews and nieces, David, Michael, Sarah and Rachel; and his adopted dog, Sadie. He will be forever missed.
A committal service was held on October 3, 2023 at Mt Hope Cemetery in Shelby, Michigan near his treasured Lake Michigan town of Pentwater. His ashes were interred on the family plot with his parents and maternal grandparents.
