The Chris Beard Band at Cottonmouth/Flamingo Bay

Posted

Chris Beard is known as “The Prince of the Blues” and he is coming to Cottonmouth. He grew up in a house of blues as the son of Rochester Hall of Famer Joe Beard, who came up on Beale Street in Memphis in the 1950s. By the time Chris was 6 years old he was picking guitar, learning from family friends like Matt “Guitar” Murphy and Buddy Guy.

In 1998 he released Barwalkin’ and was nominated for a W.C. Handy Award for Best New Blues Artist. Since then he has released five albums and built a reputation for traditional blues with contemporary fire, making his guitar scream and sing at the same time. Son of a legend, taught by legends, and now a legend in his own right. If you like your blues authentic, soulful, and played by the real deal.
