Polly passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 13, 2026. She was born in Medford, MA to Phyllis and Paul Blauvelt. She had two adoring sisters, Linda and Judy. The three were very close. Family was the most important thing to her, especially the frequent family get-togethers when her children and her nieces and nephews were young. Holidays at Mumma's were among her happiest times.
Polly was married to her loving and devoted husband, Gary, for 62 years. She greatly cherished her three children, Kimmy, Jimmy, and Jenny, and was deeply close to her sons-in-law, Steve and Rob, and her daughter-in-law, Darlene.
Her grandchildren—Dylan, Brittany, Mikayla, Molly, Tony, and Jenna—and great-grandchildren—Maddox, Marsi, Scottie Mae, and Casey—were the absolute light of her life. Being their grandmother and "great-Deedee" was a privilege she held above all else, and every moment spent with them was treasured.
Polly will be remembered by Gary as a devoted partner who was fun-loving, up for any adventure with their friend group in Medford, The Couples Club.
Polly's children have many fond memories of special times with her. She passed on her love of crafting to Kimmy, who remembers many trips to Leewards to pick up their next new craft. Jimmy has carried on her irreverant, sarcastic sense of humor, and Jenny has picked up her beloved role as the keeper of family lore.
Polly had many friends - she was fun to hang out with and had a wicked sense of humor. She was always kind and generous to those she loved.
She will be greatly missed by all.
