Marcus Dean Prescott, 50, a lifelong resident of Bradenton, FL, passed away on January 24th, 2024. Born on May 7th, 1973, Marcus grew up in the Sarasota-Bradenton area, radiating warmth and kindness throughout his life. He graduated from Riverview High School and pursued his passion for finance at the University of Florida, earning a BS in Finance. His academic journey continued at Stetson University in Deland, where he was awarded an MBA.
Marcus's career took him to the vibrant city of Chicago, where he made a significant mark in the world of high finance, notably on the floor of the Chicago Board of Exchange. His professional life was as dynamic as his personality, filled with achievements and enduring friendships.
Though he never married or had children, Marcus's ability to forge deep connections turned friends into family. His surviving relatives, his devoted mother Nancy, his father Wil, and his older brother Steven, remember him as more than a family member; he was a beacon of joy and generosity.
Renowned for his friendly demeanor, Marcus had an innate ability to light up any room. He was the heart and soul of any gathering, always ready with a smile and an open hand to help those in need - often generously offering whatever he had. His love for animals was profound, and his affection for his friends and family knew no bounds.
Marcus's life was also a journey of resilience and courage. Diagnosed with a mental illness as an adult, he faced his challenges with bravery, not letting them define his vibrant spirit. This part of his life brought him even closer to his family, forging unbreakable bonds of understanding, love, and support. Marcus's intelligence and zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His family deeply cherished him and will forever hold memories of his exuberant spirit close to their hearts.
A celebration of Marcus's life will take place on Monday, January 29th - 11am at Toale Brothers Funeral Home 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34236.
Following the committal services at Palms Memorial Park on Fruitville and Honore, a luncheon in his honor will be held at the Der Dutchman restaurant on Bahia Vista St.
