Cody passed away suddenly on January 18, 2024, at his home in Ellenton, Florida. He was born on March 3, 1989, in Pontiac, MI, to Kayrn Jones and Richard Esser. Cody graduated from Waterford Mott in 2007 and attended Specs Howard school. He was employed by Heavens Best Carpet Service and Goliath Restoration.

Cody loved playing football for the Corsairs. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and WAS so excited to see them win a play-off game as well as Michigan winning the national title. He was a phenomenal chef who always insisted on doing the cooking. His favorite place was the ocean and was a history buff. He was a Son's member at the American Legion Post 309.

Cody was a gentle soul, who was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be deeply and profoundly missed especially by his mom, who was his best friend. Our hearts will never be the same.

Cody is survived by his loving mother, Kayrn Jones; father, Richard Esser; brother, Seth Bridges; Aunt Kayla and Uncle Roger; Aunts, Carmen Jones, Laura Baxter (Bruce), Susie Ratledge (Brian) Connie Bell (Dawson) He will be missed by many cousins & friends and his Florida American Legion family.

He also leaves behind his cat, Lokey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Janet & Bill Heron; Clint Jones; Joni and Maury Runyan and Aunt Kathy & Uncle John Corry.

A Celebration of Life will take place on January 24, 2024, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd St. Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. Visitation between 11:00 AM-Noon. Service starts at Noon.

Luncheon immediately following the service at the American Legion Post 309, Palmetto, FL. There will also be a Celebration of Life for his Michigan family & friends in April.
