BRADENTON – After nearly two years of planning and development, the Bradenton Fire Department has begun moving into its new "Station 3." The BFD will soon turn toward its next project, relocating Station 2.
According to Chief Tim Geer, a small grand opening ceremony for Station 3 will be held in May, with a public open house event at a later date to welcome the community to their newest fire station.
Station 2 is scheduled to be relocated to the 2200 block of Manatee Avenue to allow for improved response to the eastern areas of the city.
"On behalf of all members of the Bradenton Fire Department, I extend sincere thanks to our community and city leadership for supporting these greatly needed personnel safety and response improvement projects," said Greer in a press release.
