Thou Shall Not Steal?

Posted

Not surprisingly, Harris-Walz yard signs were recently stolen from private properties in our neighborhood (including mine). Equally not surprising, her opponents’ signs were untouched. Unfortunately, the sign was too far from my Ring doorbell camera to catch these losers in action. I guess these Bible-loving Trumpers missed the Sunday school lessons on “Thou Shalt Not Steal” and “Love Thy Neighbor.”

Social media is filled with similar stories, including one from Missouri where one smart resident outwitted these dolts by putting an Apple air tag in one of the signs and traced it to a car filled with 60 other stolen Harris-Walz signs. The Trumpers were shocked and now face charges of theft and trespassing. Geniuses.

Political differences should NOT be a reason to lie, cheat, or steal from others, especially your neighbors (although some Trumpers may disagree). For the first time since my wife and I moved into this neighborhood in 2008, there were more “D” signs than “R.” I guess those “tough, manly Trumpers” felt threatened and resorted to theft. Stay classy, Trumpers.

I am undeterred. I will be picking up more signs to display (and sadly, I must take them in at night). I implore everyone to vote accordingly and end the nonsense on Nov. 5.
