Third Employee Arrested in Elementary School False Imprisonment Case

BRADENTON — On Thursday, the Bradenton Police Department announced the arrest of a third employee of G.D. Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary for the false imprisonment of a seven-year-old, non-verbal student. The charge stems from an ongoing investigation initiated on February 5.
Hydalmy Ortiz, 41, a teacher aide, was arrested on Thursday, February 22. Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher Carina Chindamo was arrested on February 6, and aide Taylor Internicola was arrested on February 9. The women are charged with false imprisonment of a child under age 13.
Security camera footage recorded on the school playground on several dates shows one or more of the women tying the wrists of the boy with a nylon walking rope, a device used to teach students to walk in line. The video shows the women securing the rope to a chair and then sitting in the chair, appearing to use their weight to keep the child from getting free.
