Theresa M. Maratta

Theresa M. “Terry” Maratta, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida.

Born on February 12, 1932, in Bayonne, New Jersey, Theresa married the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Maratta, on September 2, 1950. In 1959, they moved to Miami, Florida, where they built a warm and loving home together.

Theresa devoted many years to Miami Dade County Public Schools, serving with dedication until her retirement in 2002.

After retiring, she settled in Bradenton, where she found great joy in volunteering at her grandchildren’s school. Her generosity, steady presence, and love for family and community touched everyone around her.

She is survived by her children, Thomas M. Maratta, Donna M. Collins, and Charlene T. Walser (Roger); her grandchildren, Tim, Jenny, Eric, Sara, Roger Jr., and Emily; and her growing family of great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever cherish her memory.

Theresa will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.

To those who loved her, she was simply “Grandma, ” a name she carried with pride and joy.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 4, at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Charlie, at Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes, Florida, on Tuesday, May 5, at 2:00 PM.
