Recreational Fishing Industry Professionals Could be Eligible for Relief Grants

Suncoast Waterkeeper and Tampa Bay Waterkeeper are offering relief grants of up to $1,000 to help local fishing professionals recover lost income and expenses from last season’s devastating storms. Funding comes from the International Game Fish Association’s (IGFA) Worldwide Anglers Relief Fund (WARF).

• Apply by August 2, 2025
• Eligible areas: Suncoast & Tampa Bay regions
• Up to $1,000 per grant

Who can apply:

• Charter captains and fishing guides impacted by Hurricanes Helene and/or Milton

• Professionals operating within the Tampa Bay or Suncoast region

• Priority given to full-time guides and captains

Required documentation:

• Valid U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License

• Proof of insurance

• Completed W-9 form

• Verified proof of lost income (e.g., trip cancellations, booking records)

Grant recipients will be announced August 15, 2025
