Rays release interior renderings for planned Tampa stadium

Posted

TAMPA — The Tampa Bay Rays are enjoying their return to the Trop after playing their entire 2025 home schedule at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa while damage caused by Hurricane Milton in October 2024 was repaired.

However, the team will be relocating to a new stadium on about 130 acres of land on Hillsborough College's Dale Mabry campus, near both Steinbrenner Field and Raymond James Stadium.

The new park will have an estimated capacity of 31,000, which will likely mean the Rays will continue to have the lowest-capacity full-time stadium in the game.

"The ballpark is set to be the most intimate in Major League Baseball and introduce an unmatched, world-class fan experience," according to the Rays website.

The Rays are targeting an April 2029 opening for the new ballpark, provided funding negotiations are finalized and construction begins as planned.
