BRADENTON – Home-ownership is often considered a cornerstone of the "American Dream,“ but depending on where you are looking to buy, you may have a better chance of getting a mortgage approval. Prospective homeowners in Manatee County are fortunate in that it has the second highest approval ratio in the state.
Manatee's loan funding rate is 63.13 percent according to a study by New York-based financial technology company SmartAsset. Counties were ranked by comparing the number of mortgage applications and the number of mortgages approved in the county.
Sarasota County came in at number six with a rate of 61.52 percent. Sumter County had far and a way the highest rate at 71.58 percent, which put it 136 in the United States. The rankings were a factor in SmartAsset’s overarching study on the best mortgage markets in the U.S.
