Kruse Under Investigation for Driving Under the Influence

MANATEE COUNTY – On Friday afternoon, the Herald-Tribune reported that Manatee County Commissioner George Kruse is under investigation for DUI following a traffic accident that took place on 4/20 on Greyhawk Boulevard, near the commissioner's east county home.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Kruse was involved and public records confirm that the investigation involves whether or not he was under the influence at the time of the incident, which took place at around 5:30 p.m.
No arrests have been made and neither the county nor Kruse responded to requests for comment on the reporting.
