Posted

TBT Publisher and 22-year Manatee County Commissioner Joe McClash joins Mitch Maley and Dawn Kitterman for a discussion on the lawsuit filed against six Manatee County Commissioners by "Lectern Guy," a pardoned J6 participant, and the increasingly alarming rate at which our democratic institutions are being dismantled.

Wonderful podcast and I agree with every point made. I hope the right people listen to it and not just those of us who have been paying attention.

Excellent conversation. It needs to be transmitted to a much broader audience!! Re the govt. as a business...a government ISN'T a business!! It can't be run like one!! For us, there are 3 branches, with the designed purpose to prevent a KING...a DICTATOR! There are many DIRECTORS (Pres., Judges, Senators, Reps.)...and they have to work together. It's been GREAT for 249 years...don't screw it up now! Why people support MAGA. They're LAZY!! They're PREJUDICED!! They want everything now...immediate gratification. Thus, they base their opinions on "sound bites" and "conspiracy theories." They're too lazy to dig out the facts...the truth...and so they listen to FOX, NewsMAX, Dan Bongino, et. al. They also have many prejudices...not all the same...but when they do, they're strong. That's where they get their opinions.... that's where they're formed. Easy answers they don't have to spend time studying or even thinking about. What we did here in the County in August was incredible! Thanks to Joe and his letter, we had an impact. I personally put it in the hands of more than a thousand people.

I know others who did the same. We need to share that to show that it can be done.

I agree. A great conversation. Regarding this administration's declaration of war on the Constitution and the rule of law, the three of you are filling a leadership void created by the deafening silence of our spineless local elected representatives. When I suggested in an email to a couple of county commissioners that they have a responsibility to speak out against the dismantling of programs and funding that impact Manatee County citizens, I received a reply that there was "no way" that a county commissioner would criticize the US administration from the dais. I wasn't suggesting they do so from the dais. Commissioner Tal Siddique in explaining that speaking up for what is right may not always be popular correctly recently stated that "leadership takes courage." Our Country needs our elected officials, especially those with an R by their name, to show some courage.
