Come Rally for Democracy on November 1

Posted

Do you love this country and the freedoms we enjoy? The League of Women Voters Manatee County is right there with you! We all need to take a step back from our political bickering and unite as a community. Let's raise our voices to reaffirm our commitment to our democratic values and the Constitution.

Come to the LWV Unite and Rise for Democracy Rally in Bradenton, part of the national LWV Unite & Rise 8.5 Campaign to mobilize 8.5 million voters to support our Constitution and the rule of law.

Be there on Saturday, November 1, at the Riverwalk Pavilion, Rossi Park, 452 3rd Ave W in Bradenton from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Revel in the spirit of community and enjoy uplifting music. Listen to passionate, informed, and inspirational speakers, such as Oscar Portillo-Meza on Analysis to Action: A Mission in Digital Advocacy; Michelle Grimsley Shindano, Building Bridges Through Policy and Community Leadership; and Jessica Lowe-Minor, Advancing Civic Engagement Through Nonprofit Leadership.

Grab a snack from a food truck and visit the booths of influential, nonpartisan community organizations for great information and conversation. Check out and learn from organizations dedicated to government reforms and securing our vote, such as Digital Democracy, Open Primaries, National Popular Vote, and Rank My Vote.

You’ll connect with neighbors who care about the future of our state and our country. You’ll walk away with tools to make a difference.

Be part of the groundswell of citizens ready to make a difference in our democracy.  Mark your calendar: November 1, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Riverwalk Pavilion, Rossi Park.

Bring your family, your friends, your lawn chairs or blankets, and your resolve to uphold our Constitution and the rule of law. You don’t want to miss this opportunity!
