City of Bradenton Moves Forward with Tropicana Land Acquisition

BRADENTON — The Bradenton City Council voted 5-0 this week to acquire 30-plus acres of property from Tropicana for $5.25 million.

The property will be used as the site of the city's new public works/utilities facility.

The site is near the intersection of U.S. 301 and 9th Street East, near the railroad tracks. Tropicana had used the site for trailer loading but eventually deemed it surplus property.
