If you’ve spotted one of the City’s new blue garbage trucks around Bradenton, you’ve seen the latest addition to our Solid Waste fleet: two automated side-loading vehicles.
The trucks are designed to improve employee safety by reducing manual lifting and the strain of one of the city’s most demanding jobs. They also eliminate the need for employees to ride on the outside of collection vehicles and allow crews to service city-issued bins more efficiently.
To help the automated system operate as intended, residents should continue using city-issued bins and place them according to the Solid Waste collection guidelines.
