Bradenton Pub Busted with Illegal Slot Machines

Posted

BRADENTON — Following a month-long investigation, the Bradenton Police Department removed illegal slot machines from Pour Decisions, a saloon on Old Main Street.

An undercover operation to investigate suspected illegal gambling resulted in the removal of four arcade-style video slot machines on Wednesday, according to BPD.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing. Florida statutes prohibit slot machines unless an establishment has a Florida Gaming Control Commission-issued license.

Business owners who have illegal machines can face up to five years in prison and fines of up to $10,000 per machine.

Awww! Sheldon's Memaw needs the money to rebuild her house! I think a "4 machine" setup is simple entertainment. *** I am for these small gambling operations being legalized - but specfically for Legion Halls, VFW's, DAV's, Elks, Eagles, etc. and other non-profits, etc., to help support the organizations which do so much good in their communities. It was not unusual in my day and state, that every Catholic Church raised money to support their school by holding huge weeklong summer socials which featured among other things... boat loads of gaming wheels, dice tables, etc., and raffles for automobiles; this among the kids games and rides and tempting fair foods.
