Bradenton Launches Military Recognition Banner Program

The City of Bradenton’s Military Banner Recognition Program recognizes local veterans and active-duty service members with personalized banners displayed along Manatee Avenue West in downtown Bradenton.

The program is open to active-duty military members, veterans, National Guard members, and Reservists who served honorably. Applications are coordinated through Manatee County Veterans Services.

Inspired by Heather Christie and created in memory of her nephew, U.S. Army Specialist Nicholas, the Military Banner Program honors the men and women of the United States Armed Forces whose service and sacrifices have helped preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.

Beginning prior to Independence Day, banners featuring local veterans and service members will be displayed along Manatee Avenue West in downtown Bradenton.

Active-duty military
Veterans

National Guard members
Reserve members
Honorable service required

Banner Information
12 banner locations
Displayed prior to Memorial Day and Veterans Day, as space allows
First-come, first-served basis
Banners include photo, branch of service, and years of service

    As a vet myself that never was close to a war zone, but truly realized what that meant. I dreamed of a day when no one's child ever needed to wear a military uniform and kill another person's child in wars. So respect those who've served, yes, honor their memory... glorify death in war, NO!
