BRADENTON — At Thursday's land use meeting, Manatee County Commissioners will vote on an item that would authorize the commencement of contract negotiations with Manatee School District General Counsel Pamela D'Agostino to become Manatee County Attorney following the recent retirement of Bill Clague.

The item was added to the agenda on Tuesday under Commission Chair Mike Rahn's agenda. A consent agenda item would appoint CAO Chief Litigator Chris De Carlo as Interim County Attorney. Ms. D'Agostino previously served as an Assistant County Attorney from 2015 until August 2023, when she left to join the school district.

According to her school district bio, D'Agostino served as an Assistant State Attorney for Florida 12th Judicial Circuit from From 2007-15, prosecuting violent felony offenses involving the use of a firearm or deadly weapon and crimes committed by career criminals, habitual felony offenders, and habitual violent felony offenders. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in May 2007.
