Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Lillie, 86 passed away on April 8, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida. He was born on June 24, 1937 in Chicago where he spent most of his life. Larry served in the Army Reserves and retired after many years from the Chicago Fire Department as an engineer. He was passionate about his career as a fireman and enjoyed cooking for his fellow firefighters.

Larry attended St. Justin Martyr and Sacred Heart Elementary Schools and CVS High School in Chicago. In his free time he loved golfing and had a hole in one in North Carolina. He also enjoyed cooking, boating and water skiing on Lake Michigan, skiing with the National Ski Patrol in Colorado, and rehabbing buildings. He was the type of person who would choose to repair something rather than buy a new one. He was successful most of the time! He believed in hard work, honesty, and the value of a man's word.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Susan (Chipper) Lillie, his sister Mary Therese (John) Thornton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Lillie of Posen, Illinois, and his brother Bill Lillie of Orland Park, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Larry. He will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered in the bay near his home in Holmes Beach, Florida. A mass for Larry will be celebrated on May 12th at 9:30 at the Franciscan Queen of Angels Chapel, 9201 W. St. Francis, Frankfort, Illinois.

Condolences can be sent to the family in Holmes Beach, Florida and Mokena, Illinois.
