Dist. 3 Manatee County Commission candidate April Culbreath would like voters to believe that the “liberal media” is slandering her, working in collusion with her “RINO” opponent to ensure that a MAGA Republican is defeated. She is lying through her teeth.
I was enjoying some tacos at Maria’s inside the Red Barn flea market after recording this week’s episode of The Bradenton Times Podcast when I saw a disgustingly dishonest ad claiming that Tal Siddique, Culbreath’s opponent in the August 20 Republican primary, was guilty of “stolen valor.” This is another one of Culbreath’s many lies.
Culbreath has ducked interviews and debates, preferring to have her political handler, Anthony Pedicini, spend her developer dollars smearing a much more qualified candidate who does not bring her immense baggage and questionable ethics than answer for her lengthy and colorful record as a Manatee County Sherrif’s deputy.
As TBT reporter Dawn Kitterman summarized, “In total, between 2005 and 2011, Culbreath was suspended for a total of 885.8 hours without pay. When calculated by an eight-hour work shift, Culbreath served approximately 110 work days on administrative suspension without pay—or roughly half a work year out of six years, if based on 40 hours per week.”
The reasons for those suspensions are even more jaw-dropping, and all of them are taken from easily verified public records. No conspiracy is needed. You can read more about her sordid law enforcement history here.
Culbreath is also Chair of the Manatee Republican Executive Committee, despite a near-unanimous vote of no-confidence from its members. The REC, which doesn’t endorse candidates in Republican primaries, has been shuttered during her campaign, and members are complaining that anyone who reaches out about the upcoming election is being directed to a fake voter guide that deceptively suggests the REC, Gov. Ron DeSantis, and even Donald Trump have endorsed Culbreath and the other developer puppets on the August ballot.
Like Kevin Van Ostenbridge, Ray Turner, and Steve Metallo, Culbreath is nothing more than another unqualified developer plant who will be eager to do the bidding of people like Carlos Beruff in exchange for a six-figure part-time job. If you don’t like how things have been going in Manatee County, do not vote for April Culbreath. She represents more of the same.

I had read of her “ checkered career” as a sheriffs deputy before. The issue with the Republican Committee is a new wrinkle and somewhat of another problem. I have noticed far too many of her election signs on private property which indicates people are actually going to vote for her - that’s scary because she is not only a poor choice to perform the job but she is not qualified to do the job. Many of her signs indicate, “ supported by law enforcement. Could the rank and file actually support a wayward officer?
The issue of, “ stolen valor,” a new buzzword on the campaign trail drives me crazy as it’s being used at all levels of government elections and it’s meaningless. I am a veteran and I will say that my active duty status in Vietnam is of no value in serving as an elected government official at any level. So let’s dump this stolen valor routine and concentrate on ability please. Jim Tierney

it is my understanding that she has only been endorsed by the FOP, which is not a Law Enforcement Agency, it is a fraternity. Her signs are deceiving.
