Indivisible Manatee is hosting two “No Kings” rallies this Saturday, June 14, that are expected to draw hundreds of participants from every corner of Manatee County. Both events are part of nationwide protests against the taxpayer-funded military parade scheduled to take place in Washington, DC, on the same day.
The rallies will take place from 9:00 am – 10:30 am in Sarasota (near University Parkway and N. Cattleman Road) and Ellenton (near US 301 and Ridgewood Boulevard). The Manatee rallies are two of six in the Manasota area, with others taking place in Venice, Englewood, Sarasota, and Port Charlotte. There will also be a rally in West Bradenton at the 5500 block of Cortez Road. W in front of the Big Lots from 10 am to noon (do not park in the first three rows closest to the Toasted Yolk restaurant).
Event organizers say these rallies have been growing in size and scope since the first one was held in early May. “Our goal with No Kings Day is to send a message to Washington that millions of us are not happy with the chaos created by this President and the danger he poses to our democracy,” explains Liv Coleman, a member of the Indivisible Manatee Leadership Team.
Indivisible Manatee is part of a national grassroots movement that has inspired millions to participate in peaceful protests across the country. Participants come from every walk of life and reflect the true fabric of American society.
“This issue affects everyone and our call to action crosses all lines of society,” says Phyllis Myers, one of the original Co-Chairs of Indivisible Manatee. “We also welcome all political parties to join us and are pleased to have added a number of dissatisfied Republicans to our ranks,” she added.
Indivisible Manatee is a non-profit organization and is totally volunteer-based. For more information on No Kings Day or Indivisible Manatee, go to indivisible.org.

Our sheriff is supposed to be securing our right to free speech and to assemble. He is more like a henchman for the radical anti constitution blokes we have now in the State of Florida and the national government!
