Dogs will be dogs and dog parks are meant for dogs. I have been disappointed in the behavior I see at the G.T. Bray dog park, not by the animals but by the humans. In the past few weeks, I have seen the humans yelling at each other over dogs acting like dogs.
There is a separate area for small and large dogs to play. There is even a third more private area you can bring your dog, most of the time this area is empty and perfect for nervous K9s. Dogs will bark, chase, run, jump, play rough, and roll around in the mud. Pet owners with small or skittish dogs should not bring their animals into the larger area and then get mad and yell at the other owners when dogs play at a dog park.
Just because a larger dog barks, chases, runs, or plays rough does not mean they are a bad dog… they are just a dog acting like a dog in their park. A dog park is for the dogs, not us humans.
