I am writing to acknowledge and thank Manatee County voters for their support and decision to correct the membership of our county commission, along with the leadership of the Manatee Supervisor of Elections Office.
I am grateful that voters on and off island recognized the dangerous direction that the commission had taken and that change could only happen at the ballot box.
The election results signify that voters support and trust the values of home rule and that a powerful few, well-funded individuals should not and must not define our future.
As a result of this election, a pathway to cooperation and future mutually beneficial discussions and decisions has become possible with the county commission. On behalf of our city administration and commission, I thank you for the opportunities this election has allowed.
Terry Schaefer
Chair, Holmes Beach Commission

Let’s not forget there is more work for voters to do in November to solidify the gains made in the primary.

WTF
James Satcher is such an embarrassment, when he found out he was losing the just got up and walked out of his own office in the middle of the viewing signatures on voter mail in. He is not worthy of the position to begin with and he is childlike behavior by walking out in the middle of election night proves to me is unfit for any office, elected or appointed which he will never see again. Thank GOD
