Vincent (Vince) Konopka, age 58, passed away peacefully at Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He is predeceased by both of his parents and his brother Michael. He is survived by his brother Thomas(Marilyn), sister Cheryl(Brian), his three nieces Emily, Cherylann, and Cathleen, and his dog Cheech. Vince was born in August 1965 in Rochester NY. He moved to Florida with his family in 1977, first to Lakeland, and then to Bradenton in 1979. He graduated from Manatee High School, Class of 1983.
Vince had a passion for the outdoors, surfing the waves of Anna Maria Island and fishing out in the Gulf waters. He enjoyed playing golf, live music, and watching Tampa Bay Sports.
Vince worked over twenty years doing directional drilling, driving heavy equipment, and managing crews. He worked hard and played hard. He had a heart of gold, willing to help anyone in need, however he could. He lived life his own way, making many good friends along the way.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
