Trevor Bystrom @ Blue Marlin Seafood

Posted

About the Artist: Born and raised in Florida, Bystrom developed a passion for world music at an early age, falling in love first with the sounds of the Caribbean and later immersing himself in the work of a wide array of African artists. At sixteen, he began performing live and writing his own songs, blending folk, blues, rock, and soul with an eclectic palette of international influences and wrapping it all up in lyrics calling for peace, understanding, and equality. Some of their most notable musical inspirations, include Jack Johnson, Paul Simon, John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, and Cat Empire.

Venue: BLUE MARLIN SEAFOOD

FROM THE BEGINNING - In November 2011, Adam Ellis opened Blue Marlin Seafood in the heart of historic Bridge Street. You’ll know Blue Marlin by the vibrant blue color of this historic 1920s cottage, and once inside you will feel like you’re in a seafood house in coastal Maine.

Ellis and his wife restored the cottage, which has been their family for many years. In keeping with the feel of an intimate, coastal restaurant, they retained the original wainscoting and wood flooring and cleverly built tables and benches from recycled dock wood. The “black and white” room displays black & white photos of locals & their fish catches. Antique ship lanterns, fish mounts & oars scattered throughout lend the cottage a charming, intimate atmosphere.

Someone once told Adam Ellis “If you’re going to start a restaurant make it a place you’ll like because you’ll always be there”. The casual, coastal feel of Blue Marlin Seafood is a restaurant that you’re guaranteed to enjoy!

Weekends feature live music, and in our opinion, there’s no better place to spend an evening on Anna Maria Island.
