Richard Emil "Rick" Neumann, 75, of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Bass River, MA passed away on April 23, 2022, from metastatic melanoma.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jackie; his son, Scott and wife, Heather Neumann; daughter, Kristen and husband, John Orzel; 7 grandchildren, Nicholas and wife, Stephanie, Samantha, Colby, Chase and Cooper Orzel, Jack and Elizabeth Neumann and 3 great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Penelope and Anabelle Orzel.
Rick was born in New Haven, CT on April 24, 1946, to Emil and Helen Lynch Neumann. He graduated from North Haven High School in 1964 and was a proud graduate of Boston College with a Business Administration Degree in Accounting. He later earned an MBA from Western New England College. His first job after graduating from BC was with the Ford Motor Company in Michigan and then went on to work for United Technologies, Aetna Life & Casualty, and IBM.
Rick retired from the business world in 2001 when he and Jackie moved from Granby, CT to their new home on Cape Cod. Shortly thereafter, they began spending the winter months in Florida. Rick was a devoted husband, father and grandfather (Big Mop) and a good friend to many. He was also an avid golfer and loved everything BC, especially BC football, tailgating with friends and cheering on the Eagles. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Rick at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at South Yarmouth United Methodist Church on Old Main Street. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to The American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
