Pat Anthony Massella, 82, of Bradenton, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2022.
He was born in Mt. Vernon, New York on January 8, 1940.
He was a great dad and wonderful Pop-Pop. He was lovingly known to many as "Captain" and "The Godfather."
Pat is survived by his five children, Karen Smilen; Sherrill Rickert; Wayne Massella (Michelle);Keith Massella; Marc Massella (Becky); long time companion and friend Lorie and was preceded in death by girlfriend Debbie Smith. Pat is survived also by his ten grandchildren, Travis, Rachel, Austin, Sarah, Jake, Cassity, Skylar, Raelynn, Ryan and Aria.
Pat was a Theatrical Lighting Engineer for many years before moving to Florida. He was a master in his field. During his career, he worked proudly with Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Barbara Streisand and others. Pat even worked at Woodstock. He loved fishing, boating, baseball, football, and bowling and was a car enthusiast. Pat will be missed tremendously by all who knew him. Along with his sense of humor, we will miss enjoying pizza and ice cream with him as these were two foods he enjoyed sharing with his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Palma Sola Botanical Gardens in Bradenton from 5-7 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
