James Ronald Crowell, age 87, of Bradenton, Florida; passed away peacefully on April 22, 2022.

James (Jim) was the late son of Frank Arthur Crowell and Adelaine Marie McRae. Jim is survived by his wife, Gladys Crowell; children, James (Jimmy) Crowell (Barbara) of Bad Axe MI, Howard Crowell (Margaret) of Bradenton FL, Kathleen Boice (Michael) of Mooresville NC, Maureen Kirkpatrick (Dean) of Clinton Township MI, Arleen Nichols of Knightdale NC, Frank Crowell of Kincheloe MI, along with a plethora of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great, Great Grandchildren who loved him dearly. Stepdaughters; Florence Ashmore, Bonnie Craig, Preceded in death; Janice G. Crowell (wife) Louise Craig (step-daughter) Nicholas Crowell (Great Grandson), Michael McCarty (Great Grandson).

Jim was a retired Army Veteran with years of experience in radio, radar, and communications. He entered the army in 1954 as a private and was commissioned a Chief Warrant Officer in 1967. Jim married Janice Edmondson in 1956 and together raised a family of six children. He retired from the military in 1974 and took his years of experience into the Radio and TV field. In the summer of 1982, Jim relocated to Bradenton Florida where he continued to work in Radio and TV. His final career move was maintenance and bus driver for St. Stephen's Episcopal School. Jim remarried in 1997 and enjoyed the remainder of his years in the Sunshine State. He was a longtime member of Legacy Baptist Church, formerly Sara Bay Baptist Church, where he loved to sing in the choir, teach, and minister as Deacon.

Burial of cremains will be at Sarasota National Cemetery. A Memorial Service for James Ronald Crowell is being planned for a later date. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26th Street Chapel 5624 26th Street West Bradenton, FL 34207 is in charge of the arrangements.
