Obituary:

William ("Bill") Wayne Fuller, 78, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Berryville and Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday morning, February 25th, surrounded by his wife and three children. Bill was born in Berryville, VA on October 1, 1935, son of the late George Hunter Fuller, Sr. and Stella Mae Fuller. Bill graduated from Clarke County High School in 1954 and was President of his senior class. After graduation he worked for Shenandoah Valley National Bank in Winchester, where he met his future wife, Mary Welzel.

 

They were married in 1959 and lived in Winchester until they retired and moved to Sarasota, FL in 1998. Bill was a prominent banker for 43 years in Winchester and Berryville. Surviving with his wife Mary, are three children, William Wayne Fuller, Jr. (Judith) of Frederick County, VA, Tina Lorraine Fuller of Bradenton, FL and Kevin Hunter Fuller (Lauren) of Bradenton, FL; one grandson, William Wayne Fuller III; two sisters, Lorraine Fuller Myers and Mary Frances Alger of Berryville, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Bill was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, George Hunter Fuller, Jr., Phyllis Jean Fuller, Judith Gale Fuller and Peggy Fuller Rosenberry. Bill was a great sports fan (basketball, baseball and football) and kept up with the Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Rays teams. In High School he was manager of the Basketball team. He, his wife and children also enjoyed going to the Spring Training baseball games in FL. A southern gentleman at heart Bill was one of the kindest people anyone could ever be blessed to meet. 



Funeral Information:

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7th and a  Memorial service will be held on Saturday March 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Enders and Shirley Funeral Home in Berryville, VA. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eagles Athletic Association, c/o Casey Childs, Athletic Director of Clarke County High School, 927 Mosby Drive, Berryville, VA 22611.
