Robert Winfield Sneeden, “Robin”, 64, Bradenton, died on April 22, 2012. Robin was born on May 15, 1947 in Raleigh, NC. Robin lead a distinguished career in the US Army and was a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. His commendations include The Bronze Star (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), The Air Medal and numerous others. He was a member and officer of the Manatee County Hundred Club for over 10 years, supporting law enforcement in the state of Florida and Manatee County. His involvement with law enforcement began as a police officer in Raleigh, NC prior to his second enlistment in the US Army.
He was a husband, father, friend and patriot. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Otto and Mildred Sneeden; daughter, Brandy Sneeden; and two brothers Larry and Terry Sneeden. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Ross; his son, Robert S. Sneeden; daughter, Jessica L. Sneeden; stepchildren, Laas Hedden, Jessica Ross, Tim Ross and Dallas Ross; and many grandchildren.
Funeral Information:
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th Street West, Bradenton. Further services and interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Manatee County Humane Society (www.humanemanatee.org) in his memory.
