Richard E. Schmidt Sr., 80, of Palmetto, formerly from Southampton, Ma., passed away Wednesday,Nov.23,2011. Born in Clifton Park, NY August 11, 1931 to the late Edward and Anna [Blaha] Schmidt. . He worked for many years as a truck driver for Westhampton Sand & Gravel and Bill Willard Sand & Gravel before retiring to Florida where he drove bus for Palmetto JUST FOR GIRLS CLUB until retiring in May 2011. Richard was predeaceased by wife Shirley [Welch] Schmidt, a son Steve, and sister Margaret He leaves a son Richard E. Schmidt Jr. and wife Patricia, daughter Shirley Williams, both of Southampton, Ma., sister Marie Baraniuk of Southampton, longtime companion Victoria Yoder of Palmetto, two grandsons, two grandaughters, two great grandchildren, best friend Evelyn Yoder of Palmetto and loyal faithful companion Eddie.
Funeral Information:
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the Hall at Rainbow Mobile Home Park, 1015 12th Street W., Palmetto. In lieu of flowers a donation in his memory may be made to JUST FOR GIRLS CLUB, 1500 10th Street West, Palmetto , FL. 34221.
